A Fast, Full Charge
Charging batteries from an alternator is much more efficient than going through an AC generator and a battery charger. That's why we use Kubota diesels to drive large frame DC alternators ...to charge batteries fast and full. Chances are you'll already have an inverter onboard, so when you want AC, it's there whether you run the engine or not. If you want AC for a long time, then you'll have to run the engine to keep up with demand. The Genie is perfect for multi hulls using outboards which have limited charge capability, especially at anchor. It is also used by small sailboats owners who don't want to run their main engine just to charge batteries or make hot water.

Rather than attempt to match alternator output and engine horsepower with pulley ratios, electronic current limiting allows for precise setting at higher amperage output than provided by mechanical means.

When the engine also drives another apparatus, such as a refrigeration compressor, alternator output is reduced automatically to free up some power for the other load. The alternative, used by others, is to shut the alternator completely off. Typically, the Genie can produce 50-70 Amps while powering a second load.

The Smart Alternator Regulator can be shared with the alternator on the main engine, and both the main and Genie can be running at the same time if desired.

The heat exchanger can be supplied with a port used to circulate hot coolant through cabin heaters or water tanks with engine coolant loops.

Genie 12V, 100 Amps
The G100 provides 100+ Amps continuously, using an Ample Power #4023 alternator. The alternator is regulated with a heavy duty regulator designed for truck applications. The regulator can be upgraded to the Next Step Regulator. The G100 is electric start. Throttle control is manual ...run it at any RPM as needed to charge at the right Amps. Weighing just 120 pounds, the G100 is a powerhouse. Dimensions are 29 inches long, 16 inches wide and 16 inches high.

Genie 12V, 150 Amps
The G150 provides 150 Amps continuously for a fast full charge. The unit is provided with all wiring including throttle control and automatic shutoff for over temperature or loss of oil pressure. The alternator is a long life large frame. It is regulated with the Smart Alternator Regulator which may be shared with the main engine alternator. Dimensions are 30 inches long, 16 inches high and 16 inches wide. Weight is 128 pounds.

Genie 24V, 75 Amps
This G75 is built using the same components as the G150, however the alternator is designed to produce 75 Amps of continuous current at 24-Volts. Note that the unit requires 12 Volts to start and run. We can supply a 24V to 12V converter to provide 12V power. Automatic throttle and emergency shutdown are standard. Size and weight are the same as the G150.

Genie 24V, 175 Amps
The G4024 is designed to be a partner with the Trace 4000 Watts sinewave inverter, (Model 4024), which operates from 24-volts. The G4024 can provide over 5000 Watts of DC charging to keep up with inverter demand. Providing 175 continuous Amps of 24-volt DC current, the G4024 is the perfect match for high power systems. The Trace 4024 sine wave inverter has surge power to start huge loads, and the G4024 can keep up with demands on the battery bank at the maximum continuous rating of the inverter. Dimensions are 24L X 22W X 24H. Weight is 195 pounds. The G4024 may be ordered with a water maker system. The high pressure pump is mounted on the engine frame and coupled with a magnetic clutch. Charge Amps are reduced when the water maker pump is engaged. Consult the factory for details.

Genie 12V, 325 Amps
The G325 uses the same powerful engine as the G4024, but produces 325 Amps at 12-volts instead of 175 Amps at 24 Volts. Dimensions are 24L X 22W X 24H. Weight is 185 pounds.

Instrument Panel
An optional instrument panel is available with any of the Genies. This panel has gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, and an hour meter. The control switch is incorporated into the panel. Dimensions are 6 inches square.

Auxiliary Platform
Any Genie may be equipped with an auxiliary platform to mount refrigeration compressors, dive compressors, or water maker pumps. A second alternator can also be supplied ...for instance a 12 and 24 Volt unit.
